Our Helpful Communities
In this final week of our first half term, Trinity Post 16 Solutions Ltd put their early travel training lessons into practice. So far we have looked at road safety, what we should do and what we should not do to stay safe.
With this knowledge learners safely took a walk in our local community. Whilst demonstrating good road skill, learners also explored what is available on our doorstep. In Independent Living sessions we have discussed that as adults there are places in our local community that we will all need support or help from daily, weekly or time to time. We found a police station, medical centre, convenience store, barbers, pharmacies and places of worship just on one street!!!
Learners noted their locations writing their addresses and also used What 3 Words to pinpoint their digital location. This information was then taken back to the classroom to map our community close to college.
